High Potential and Gifted Education
At Cooranbong Public School, we proudly uphold the NSW Department of Education’s High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) policy, recognising and celebrating the wide range of strengths, talents and learning needs within our student community. We are deeply committed to creating an inclusive, high-expectations learning environment where every student is challenged, engaged and supported to excel.
Our approach goes beyond academic achievement. We intentionally identify, nurture and extend high potential and gifted learners across all four domains—intellectual, creative, social-emotional and physical—ensuring that every child has opportunities to thrive. Through targeted programs, evidence-informed practice and differentiated learning, we foster a culture of excellence that empowers students to explore their passions, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

Why choose us for your high potential or gifted child?
Our approach focuses on four domains:
- Creative Domain: We provide opportunities for students to develop innovative thinking and artistic expression, encouraging originality and problem-solving through diverse creative activities.
- Intellectual Domain: We challenge students with enriched learning experiences that promote higher-order thinking, deep inquiry, and advanced knowledge across the curriculum.
- Physical Domain: Recognising the importance of physical development, we support students in enhancing their coordination, health, and physical skills through targeted activities and sports.
- Social-Emotional Domain: We prioritise the emotional wellbeing and social development of gifted students, fostering resilience, self-awareness, and positive relationships to help them thrive within our school community.
